LED Corn Lamp Applications
Corn lamps are a very popular option for general purpose and industrial lighting applications. These lights come in a variety of different wattage options, base sizes and physical dimensions to be able to suit practically every lighting application. The most common applications for corn lamps include:
- Retail and commercial spaces
- Warehouse Lighting
- Garage lighting
- Household lighting
- Replacements for incandescent bulbs and CFLs in enclosed indoor and outdoor fixtures
- Industrial Lighting
- Walkway lighting
- Security lighting
- School and municipal lighting
Choosing Correct Wattage
LED lights do not require the same levels of wattage common to CFL and incandescent bulbs, which can make choosing the correct LED wattage difficult. When selecting an LED light, it is best to match its rated lumen output with the output of the light it is replacing or the level of light that is desired.
Our LED corn lights offer a wide range of wattages and lumen outputs, depending on the application requirements. These range from compact 14W lamps producing 1700 lumens to large 120W lamps producing over 15,000 lumens, with many choices in between. Smaller lamps are commonly used in residential applications requiring a compact yet bright and efficient lighting solution. Larger corn lamps, especially above 10,000 lumens, are normally used in commercial and industrial applications requiring a simple yet powerful and efficient lighting solution that encompasses a large area.
Corn Bulb Base Options
Because corn bulbs are intended to replace traditional incandescent bulbs and CFL lights, they use the same style of bases. These screw type bases are designated with an āEā and use what is known as Edison Thread, named after the inventor of the screw-in light bulb, Thomas Edison. The most common of these bases is the E26 threading, which is considered a medium-sized base. Its larger cousin, the E39, is effectively the same design scaled up.
The number designation refers to the diameter of the base in millimeters. This means E26 & E39 are 26mm & 39mm in diameter respectively. Generally speaking, E26 is the most common size in residential and light commercial applications, whereas the E39 is the most common for heavy commercial and industrial use.
